Environment, Health and Safety
(EHS) at Kinder Morgan Canada
|
Kinder Morgan Canada Inc. (KMC) is committed to EHS excellence as outlined in the KMC EHS Policy. KMC is able to do work in a way that minimizes risk to its employees, contractors, the public and the environment by implementing the necessary resources, skills, processes and controls defined within the KM Canada EHS Management System. The management system structure emphasizes the importance of EHS impact prevention and continuous performance improvement, rather than reaction and management of loss occurrences.
Restoration Initiatives
KMC has been active in a number of initiatives aimed at enhancing the habitat and environment within their operating areas. An example of this is the Stoney Creek Restoration Project in Burnaby, British Columbia. To recognize KMC for their efforts, the Wildlife Habitat Council (a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and conservation of wildlife habitat), awarded a Corporate Wildlife Habitat Certification for the success of this project.
During Environment Week this year, KMC employees ran a bake sale with all proceeds donated to the Alberta Wilderness Associaton (AWA). KMC generously matched these proceeds. The donation was put towards maintenance of the Big Horn Trail, located just outside of Jasper National Park
