Midcontinent Express Pipeline (MEP)

Midcontinent Express Pipeline (MEP) is a 500-mile natural gas pipeline system that extends from the southeast corner of Oklahoma, across northeast Texas, northern Louisiana, central Mississippi and into Alabama, interconnecting with numerous major pipeline systems (see pipeline map). MEP provides a critical infrastructure link in the chain that moves supply from newly developed areas in Oklahoma and Texas into high-demand Eastern U.S. markets. We provide customers access to reliable domestic onshore supply.

Services Provided:

  • Firm Transportation Services
  • Interruptible Transportation Services
  • Park and Loan Services

MEP currently has capacity to transport 1.4 Bcf/d in Zone 1 and 1.0 Bcf/d in Zone 2. MEP is currently expanding its capacity through the addition of incremental compression. When completed in 2010, MEP will have capacity of 1.8 Bcf/d in Zone 1 and 1.2 Bcf/d in Zone 2.

Midcontinent Express is owned by Midcontinent Express Pipeline LLC, a joint venture between Kinder Morgan Energy Partners, L.P. and Energy Transfer Partners, L.P., and operated by Kinder Morgan.
